In-Office Services
Atlanta Women's Specialists now offers convenient and cost-effective outpatient alternatives for procedures previously only performed in a hospital operating room. As in-office services, these procedures require a localized anesthetic, not general anesthesia, and therefore expose you to fewer medical risks. They also take less time, offer quicker recovery and usually cost less out of pocket.
Ablation Treatment for Abnormal Bleeding (Menorrhagia)

Colposcopy: A microscopic exam of the cervix performed when a pap test shows abnormal cells or changes. May or may not involve a biopsy.
Implanon: A form of birth control injected under the skin.
IUD (intrauterine device) insertion and removal: A form of birth control that is inserted into the uterus, where a hormone is released directly.
LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure): A therapeutic surgical procedure performed on the cervix to remove certain abnormal cells. Usually done with a local anesthetic.
SIS (Saline Infused Sonogram): A diagnostic procedure performed on patients who have abnormal bleeding. The uterine cavity is slightly distended with fluid while the patient undergoes an ultrasound.
STD Screening: For a variety of sexually transmitted diseases. Depending on the results, counseling and treatment is available.
Ultrasound: For a variety of gynecological and obstetrical issues.
