Dr. Juanita Wyatt-Hathaway knew from an early age that she wanted to be a doctor. As a physician at Atlanta Women's Specialists, she gets to help women with their healthcare needs every day.
For Dr. Hathaway, one of her most exhilarating times is witnessing the moment when a mom looks at her new baby for the first time. She also enjoys being able to care for patients over many years, helping to resolve problems and watching their families grow and change.
Establishing a rapport with her patients is extremely important to Dr. Hathaway. It allows her to better help her patients. She believes laughter is a large factor in overall health. Humor is part of her personable manner, which she uses to help patients feel comfortable.
"I always want to find out what's troubling a patient or what her expectations are," says Dr. Hathaway. "I listen in order to understand her needs so that we can work together to accomplish her goals."
Dr. Hathaway encourages her patients to educate themselves about their medical situations and offers guidance on finding the most accurate and beneficial research available.
