Dr. Dawson received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1995, and then received his residency training from the University of Florida where he served as Chief Resident in 1999. After practicing in the greater Tampa, FL, area for four years, Dr. Dawson returned to Georgia as an Associate Clinical Professor at Emory University School of Medicine for two years before joining Atlanta Women’s Specialists.
Dr. Dawson is committed to improving the hospital experience and quality of care through his involvement at Northside Hospital. He currently serves on the Medical Executive Committee and the Professional Review Committee, and has served as Vice Chair and Chair of OB-GYN as well as Chair of the Quality Improvement Committee for OB-GYN.
Attending births is just one of the ways Dr. Dawson impacts the lives of his patients. He works to ensure that he makes a difference with patients by improving their health and listening to and validating their concerns. Dr. Dawson values the relationships he has built with his patients over the years. He spends time getting to know the whole person and establishing a bond of trust. His efforts have paid off – Dr. Dawson is repeatedly voted one of top OB-GYNs in the Atlanta Parent magazine.
Dr. Dawson also believes in the power of patient education and understanding. “An educated patient is more likely to take an active role in her own care,” he says.
Dr. Dawson is also the proud father of two children. In his time off, he enjoys traveling and skiing.
